Thomas L. Simpson, CFLS*
Thomas Simpson is a Certified Family Law Specialist and Partner at Feinberg Mindel Brandt & Klein. Before joining FMBK in 2021, Tom served as Managing Partner of the highly regarded Simpson Law Group for 25 years. With the merger of offices, the firm now operates with over 20 attorneys across West LA, Calabasas, and Pasadena.
Tom brings nearly four decades of experience in family law, handling complex matters involving child custody, support modifications, fiduciary duty, and property division. He has litigated and mediated hundreds of family law cases and has qualified as an expert witness in over 10 legal malpractice matters involving family law.
A Los Angeles native, Tom earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University. Prior to law school, he was commissioned in the U.S. Army Reserve and attained the rank of Captain. Since becoming certified as a Family Law Specialist in 1980, Tom has maintained a strong commitment to excellence, advocacy, and service.
Tom has volunteered extensively, serving as a Daily Settlement Officer and Mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court Family Law Department. In 2006, he secured a then-record $3 million breach of fiduciary duty judgment in Los Angeles County. His leadership and service extend into multiple professional, charitable, and pro bono organizations, reflecting his long-standing dedication to both clients and the broader legal community.
