Robert C. Brandt, Certified Family Law Specialist, was named the head of Feinberg Mindel Brandt & Klein LLP’s Family Law Department nearly 20 years ago. Through his dedication to mentorship, integrity, and education, internally amongst team members and externally in the family law community, Mr. Brandt ensured the excellence and steady growth of FMBK’s family law department. Today, FMBK stands as one of the nation’s largest and most esteemed family law firms.

Mr. Brandt has earned great respect from clients and peers, as reflected by his inclusion on the Southern California Super Lawyers List since 2005, including the “Top Ten” List for eight consecutive years and the “Top 100” List each year since 2009. In 2020, Mr. Brandt was featured on the cover of the annual Super Lawyers Magazine.

Mr. Brandt is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), where he serves as The Southern California Chapter’s Past President and is a recipient of the AAML National Professionalism Award (2018), one of the most prestigious awards one can receive as an AAML Fellow. He is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL). In 2019, Mr. Brandt was appointed by the State Bar’s Board of Trustees to The Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE) Commission where he assisted in the evaluation of candidates under consideration for a judicial appointment by the Governor. Mr. Brandt served as a past Chair on the LACBA Family Law Section’s Executive Committee. He is a recipient of the LACBA Spencer Brandeis Award (2022), the highest honor bestowed by the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Family Law Section. In 2021, he was appointed as a Diplomate to The American College of Family Trial Lawyers (ACFTL), an organization consisting of the top 100 family law trial lawyers in the nation, who are recognized and respected by the bench and bar as the leaders of their field.

Mr. Brandt has been a critical member of Southwestern Law School’s Alumni Association Board and instrumental in creating the Inns of Court. As the second recipient of Southwestern’s Lifetime Achievement Award, he is recognized for his leadership, excellence, and career longevity. Mr. Brandt’s contributions have greatly impacted the Los Angeles family law community and the legal profession.
